A MAJOR tourism conference in Bacchus Marsh next month is expected to keep Moorabool’s tourism figures on the up and up.
Some of the best operators in the country will descend on Bacchus Marsh for the event hosted by Tourism Moorabool.
The conference at Bacchus Marsh Grammar School on Tuesday, October 16, is expected to attract up to 100 tourism operators and will feature a number of keynote speakers.
Moorabool Tourism advisory board chairman Barry Wilkins said it was a fantastic chance to promote the shire as a destination of choice. “It’s a great way to tap into new expertise, to share ideas and make Moorabool an even more attractive place to visit.”
Mr Wilkins, who has 43 years’ experience in tourism, moved to the area five months ago and is spearheading Moorabool’s event calendar.
The Weekly last month reported a tourism boom in Moorabool, with visitor numbers increasing by 40 per cent in the past year.
