DOZENS of police and RSPCA raided an illegal cockfight at a Rockbank property on Sunday.
More than 80 men were at the fight in a shed at the property in Neale Road.
RSPCA spokesman Tim Pilgrim said the raid had been planned following information that had been received.
Police from Melton and RSPCA inspectors are executing warrants under the Gambling Regulations Act and Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
Those at the fight faced maximum penalties of $34,000 in fines and a year in jail, Mr Pilgrim said.
It’s believed at least 200 birds at the fight were seized by RSPCA inspectors and four vets.
