Traders are being urged to be vigilant when receiving $100 and $50 notes from customers.
Police said there had been reports of fake notes circulating in Hobsons Bay. “If you receive a suspect banknote, hold on to the note and tell the person you need to contact police who can sort the matter out,” a spokesman said.
