BNL: Darley and Melton close in on finals

DARLEY and Melton moved a step closer to sealing Ballarat Netball League finals berths after both won and received a favour from East Point at the weekend.

Darley duo Sarah Thompson (24 goals) and Sally Jones (22) shared the scoring load in a 46-21 win against Melton South, while Melton overpowered Sunbury Lions 60-13.

Melton (8-2-3) holds fourth by half a game from the Devils (8-1-4), while seventh-placed Ballarat (6-7) lost to East Point to extend the gap between the teams. Bacchus Marsh (6-1-5) had the bye and is now six premiership points clear of Ballarat.
