COLOUR co-ordinated garbage trucks will prowl the streets of Melton after a seven-year waste disposal contract was signed.
Led by Melton supervisor Paul Sylvester (pictured), JJ Richards & Sons started collecting rubbish yesterday as part of a deal which Melton Council general manager of planning Luke Shannon said would deliver a more timely and consistent service.
Thirteen trucks, coloured red for garbage, green for green waste and yellow for recycling, will be decorated with sustainability messages.
Residents are being asked to place bins out the night before their usual collection.
