FACE-PAINTING, a monster raffle and roving musicians will feature as part of Burnside Retirement Village’s fete from 9am-3pm on March 25.

More than 300 residents will have stalls with items such as plants, books, arts and crafts and homemade cakes.

Resident Marlene Gorman (pictured with Peter Sambrooks) believes the event will be a hit with bargain hunters in the western suburbs.

“This is our ninth annual fete,” she said, “and we will have people coming from places like Melton and Footscray because a lot of them know about it now. For sale are some great items donated by village residents and their families. It’s also a lot of fun for children.” Money raised will be used to improve the village.
