MELTON stunned Williamstown in an FFV Knockout Cup boilover on Saturday as the Phoenix won 5-3 at MacPherson Park on Saturday.
It was Danny Gnjidic’s first competitive match in charge of the Phoenix and it ended in a stunning win against a Williamstown team coached by former Socceroo Michael Curcija.
The Phoenix will play in provisional league 3 north-west this season while Williamstown is in state league 3 north-west, three rungs higher on the Victorian football pyramid.
