Every drop counts

SAMMY the snake sharpened prep pupils’ water conservation knowledge last Friday.

The Western Water mascot visited Bacchus Marsh Grammar’s preps as part of an education program aimed at making water conservation a lifelong habit.

Sammy taught children like Kade and Kyla (pictured) about the water cycle, the importance of drinking water, and sustainability through games and experiments.

They also received water bottles, a shower timer, universal plugs and a toothbrush cup.

Western Water began running its ‘school starter education program’ in 2005.

“These children will go home from school and start reducing their own water use, as well as encouraging other family members to do the same,” Western Water managing director John Wilkinson said.
