SMOKY salmon tartares, slow-cooked beef and rich raspberry tarts were among the delicacies spread over tables at the Bacchus Marsh Longest Lunch on Friday – part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival.
Myrniong’s undulating hills were the backdrop for 160 guests who were served by Bacchus Marsh Grammar students like Ayden (pictured) at the Plough Hotel, with local wine matched to each dish.
The event raised about $15,000 for Djerriwarrh Health Services, which also helped organise the lunch.
Chief executive Bruce Marshall says the money will go towards medical equipment.
Thanking the many local businesses that supported the lunch, he said the hospital planned to make it an annual event.
