A NEW maternal and child health service is set to make the lives of Eynesbury’s new parents a little easier.
As a mother of four, Hayley Wyllie says the availability of the service at the Discovery Centre in Eynesbury Road will help her spend less time travelling and make assessments of her baby daughter Ava, five months, a much simpler task.
The service will operate for half a day each Friday. Melton Council says opening hours will increase as demand rises in the growing suburb.
Thirty-seven families are enrolled at the centre, with 11 babies aged up to one-month old.
Mrs Wyllie says she used to drive to Darley for check-ups, but appointments for Ava will be much closer to home.
“It’s terrific; it’s just up the road from me,” she says. “It’s much easier now.”
Council’s maternal and child health services are free and provide support for families with parenting, developmental assessment, early detection and social support.
