Wilde wins Rally Calder

WEST Australian youngster Tom Wilde, in a Mitsubishi Evo 10, has clinched his first ever win in a round of the Australian Rally Championship with victory in the opening round of the Four Wheel Drive Championship at Rally Calder on the weekend.

Honda and its lead driver, Eli Evans, celebrated their maiden ARC round wins with victory in the Two Wheel Drive Championship.

As Michael Copp’s photo shows, bad weather only added to the spectacle as Calder Park hosted the event.

Thousands of people watched seven different race categories battle through various stages across the three days in urban rallying settings including tunnels and a junkyard.
