RAIN put paid to the final round of the home and away season to set up a final for Melton against its victim from the same stage last year, Broadmeadows.
For the second year running, the Lions will start their finals campaign in North West first XI against the Falcons at MacPherson Park.
Broadmeadows finished sixth to earn a shot at the first-placed Lions.
Teams down to 11th place were still in contention for finals before Saturday’s action was washed out.
Melton teams will play Plenty Valley at AKLine reserve in second XI, Altona at Frank Kirk oval in third XI, and Plenty Valley at MacPherson Park second oval in fourth XI.
Matches will be played on Saturday and Sunday.
The Lions’ first XI record of 11 wins and one loss, for 66 points, had them a game clear of Kew.
