Get involved in festival
Melton council is calling for expressions of interest from community and sports groups, businesses and performers wanting to get involved in the 2015 Djerriwarrh Festival. Applications are now open for street parade floats, market and information stalls, a pet expo, Get Active expo, community performers and food vendors. The festival is from Saturday, November 7, with most activities to take place at the Melton Recreation Reserve, Reserve Road. Melton residents are being encouraged to give feedback on parks and roads maintenance between June 2 and 16. Mayor Sophie Ramsey said the council was reviewing how it maintained parks and roads. “We want to know what areas of maintenance activity are important to residents, how they rate it, ways to improve it and what they think of the level of funding council is allocating to parks and roads maintenance,” she said. The community engagement drop-in sessions will be from 2-4pm on Wednesday, June 10, at the Melton library, and from 10am-noon on Saturday, June 13, at Caroline Springs library.
