Property owners fined

Two Plumpton property owners have been convicted for illegally dumping landfill without a permit. At the Sunshine Magistrates Court, Mendo Kitanovski and Slobodan Kitanovski were each found guilty of 18 charges, and Gold Developments, of which Mendo Kitanovski is the sole director, was found guilty of 12 charges. Mendo was fined $27,000 and ordered to pay $18,476 in costs. Slobodan was fined $6000 and $3000 in costs. Gold Developments was fined $24,000.

Centre makeover

Refurbishment works on the Melton Visitor Information Centre will start early next month. The works, which are part of the Melton Town Centre revitalisation project, are expected to be finished by the end of the year.

Brookfield centre opens

Botanica Springs Children’s and Community Centre in Brookfield was opened last week. Melton council contributed $4.7 million, with $2 million coming from the state government.
