A best-on-ground performance from Dane Grenfell helped get Darley back on the Ballarat Football League senior winners’ list on Saturday.
Grenfell booted two goals and worked hard around the ground to help his side topple East Point by 16 points.
The Devils were forced to fight hard all afternoon as the lead and momentum swung between the two sides.
But when it mattered most, Darley came out on top.
Holding a seven-point lead at three-quarter time, the Devils booted three final-term goals to seal the 12.14 (86) – 9.16 (70) win.
Also impressive for Darley were Brendan Porter and Nicholas Thacker. Up forward, Shane Page and Rhys Ellis each booted two goals.
On a tough day for East Point, Daniel Semmens worked hard and was named his side’s best player.
The weekend’s win lifts Darley to third spot with the Devils holding a 3-1 record.
The club’s only loss came at the hands of undefeated Redan.
Darley will have a bye this week.
In other round four results, Redan was far too good for Ballarat, Sunbury defeated Melton South, and Lake Wendouree got the better of Melton.
