Melton got itself on the Ballarat Football League winners’ list with a victory against Sebastopol on Saturday night.
The Bloods recovered from a goalless first quarter by kicking six unanswered majors in the second term and taking a 31-point lead into half-time.
Despite Sebastopol fighting out the match, the Bloods remained in control during the second half to secure the 23-point 10.11 (71)-7.6 (48) victory.
The win follows a round-one draw.
The Bloods have a bye this week and will take on Lake Wendouree in round four.
In the reserves, Melton did not concede a goal in the 12.11 (83)-0.6 (6) win over Sebastopol.
