Melton Centrals made a great start under new coach Glenn Hopkins in the Riddell District Football League on Saturday.
The Centrals produced a come-from-behind victory against last year’s finalists, Rockbank. Melton trailed by 15 points at half-time before a five goal to two third quarter got the Centrals back into the game.
From there the club continued to apply the pressure on the Rockbank defenders and eventually broke through for a seven point win, 10.11 (71) – 9.10 (64).
Nathan Richardson was among the best for Melton, booting three goals, while Rex Hickman finished the match with two majors.
