Eight years for one-punch attack on Darley man

A 22-year-old Ballarat man has been sentenced to eight years’ jail for a fatal one-punch attack on Darley man John Starling in 2013.

The Supreme Court heard Tai Sharp was three weeks into a community corrections order and was on bail for armed robbery and theft offences when he killed Mr Starling at Darley.

Sharp, who pleaded guilty to manslaughter, will be eligible for parole in four years.
