Good neighbours aren’t found only on Ramsey Street …
Melton South residents are being invited to celebrate Neighbour Day at Kurrajong Crescent Reserve on Sunday, March 29.
Linking Melton South, which is facilitated by Djerriwarrh Health Services, has organised Party in the Park, offering free arts, crafts and sports activities, hip-hop and drumming workshops, face-painting and an opportunity to bounce on the jumping castle.
Djerriwarrh Health Services chief executive Bruce Marshall said social connections with neighbours could help prevent loneliness, isolation and depression.
“Linking Melton South is organising Party in the Park to give people a chance to get together and celebrate what’s great about Melton South and get to know their neighbours,” Mr Marshall said.
“The event will also provide community members with ideas of how to better use the public spaces and parks in Melton South.”
Community radio station 979fm will broadcast live at the reserve, while Western Water will provide visitors with free drinking water.
The party runs from 11am-2pm on Sunday, March 29, at the Kurrajong Crescent Reserve, Station Road, Melton South.
