After battling through the FReeZA Push Start Battle of the Bands, Ember Rain (pictured) is ready to rock out on the main stage at this year’s Moomba festival.
The band will represent Melton in the Moomba grand final of the statewide competition, which gives young and emerging musicians the opportunity to be in the running for prizes that include a recording session.
The band brings together the musical talents of lead singer Christine Clark of Bacchus Marsh; her cousin, Adam Mercante, of Hoppers Crossing, on rhythm guitar; Hillside twins David and Chris Agnew on drums and lead guitar; and Jeremy Morrisey on bass.
“It’s so surreal,” said Clark. “We are playing at Moomba … we are ecstatic.”
The band members are ready to make the most of their success and are looking forward to writing and recording new music.
The alternative punk rock band released its first EP, The Danger Zone, last year and hope to follow it with another EP or album.
Clark said they hoped their music was capable of touching a wide range of audiences.
“We want to have people out there that hear our music and enjoy it and love it,” she said.
Clark said their Moomba performance would be full of energy.
“We try and keep everything catchy and fast the whole way through,” she said.
Battle of the bands
The battle of the bands grand final at Moomba will be on Saturday, March 7, from 1pm.
