Melton residents are being urged to grab a rubbish bag and clean up Australia on Sunday.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the national Clean Up Australia Day, and hundreds of volunteers have already registered to preserve 14 sites across Melton.
Mayor Sophie Ramsey said the clean-up was the perfect opportunity to make a difference to the community.
“Clean Up Australia Day is a great way for everyone to come together and help clean up our local parks and other recreational areas,” Cr Ramsey said.
Registered participants can take a break at the Hannah Watts Park in Melton from noon for a free barbecue.
