A series of free, six-week programs starting in Melton next week is aimed at encouraging kids and adults to explore local parks and reserves while exercising and staying healthy.
Ten programs will be offered from Monday, February 23, to Saturday, April 11, across the municipality.
Melton mayor Sophie Ramsey is inviting everyone to join in and get their hearts pumping.
“Council takes the health and well-being of residents seriously, which is why we are always keen to deliver programs that address the key health issues that affect our municipality,” Cr Ramsey said.
The series will include a Mums and Bubs personal training session, which kicks off at 9.15am on Thursday, February 26, at the Kurunjang Recreation Reserve.
The Get Active program will also offer Pilates in the park, a Toolern Creek play run, ‘guys get active’ and ‘kids get active’ sessions.
‘Cardio tennis’ will be held across parks at Melton West, Taylors Hill, Diggers Rest, Kurunjang, Caroline Springs, Melton South and Rockbank.
