Cash to claim

On December 1 last year a large amount of cash was found outside Melton police station and handed in. Police are looking to speak to anyone who lost or misplaced a large sum of money around that time. Anyone with information can contact Sgt Brooke Ayres at Melton police station on 9747 7999.

Car wash thefts arrest

Police have arrested a 19-year-old Melton man in relation to a series of thefts from coin machines at car washes and laundries. The offences were committed in Melton, Caroline Springs, Sunshine, Point Cook, Bacchus Marsh and Gisborne. The man was arrested on January 26 and has been bailed to appear at Sunshine Magistrates Court at a later date.

Drug raid finds gun

A hydroponic cannabis crop was discovered by police at a residential premises in Heatherglades Drive, Melton West, on January 23. Police also seized an illegal firearm and a quantity of ice from the property. Two men, a 27-year-old from Footscray and a 45-year-old from Albanvale, were arrested and charged.

Move on recognition

Melton residents are being urged to attend a forum on constitutional recognition for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Footscray next month. Rivers to Recognition will be from 6-8pm on Thursday, February 12, at the Maribyrnong council, Footscray.
