Western Spirit ends U18 championship with win

Western Spirit has finished its run in the Victorian Bushrangers under-18 championship with a win against Western Waves.

Josh Hahnel and captain Thomas Duxson were the standouts, putting on a partnership of 94.

Hahnel top-scored with 102, while Duxson made 72 in the Spirit’s total of 7-229.

In reply, the Waves could manage only 9-201.

Mitchell Cross took three wickets, while Jonah Koch and Akon Mawien claimed two each.

The Spirit won two games across the championship but were out of contention after the group stage when rain made play impossible in the third match.
