Carols by Candlelight

Share and embrace a warm Christmas spirit at Melton council’s annual Carols by Candlelight. The night will feature the Kazoos, Jayka Singing Academy, music sensation Kane Alexander and local school choirs. From 6-9.30pm on Saturday, December 13, at the Hannah Watts Park, High Street, Melton.

Tunes and a cuppa

Enjoy a free sing-along in a relaxed atmosphere and have a cuppa and a chat at the Melton South Community Centre, Tuesdays at 10am.

Melton South celebrates

A free party to celebrate Melton South will include a barbecue, arts activities and sports. From 11am-3pm on Sunday at Kurunjang Reserve.

Community awards

Nominations for the Community Achievement awards close on Sunday. Categories include citizen of the year, young citizen of the year, community project of the year and woman of the year.

Help Ava fight leukaemia

“A Party for Ava” will be held at the Bacchus Marsh Shire Hall on Friday from 7pm-midnight. Tickets cost $25 and cover finger food and entertainment. There will be prizes, auctions and raffles. Money raised will go towards six-year old Ava Le Huray’s fight against leukaemia and to assist the Le Huray family. Tickets can be purchased at Bacchus Marsh Primary School or Customised Training at The Business Block. This is an 18 years and over event.

Anxiety, depression help

Melton South Community Group will host anxiety and depression support groups for women and men. The women’s sessions will be held on Mondays from 10-11.30am. Sessions for men will be on Mondays from 7-8.30pm. The free sessions, facilitated by professionals who provide guidance and support, will be held at 26 Exford Road, Melton South.

Market magic

Sunday will be market day from 10am-4pm at Melton South Community Centre, 26 Exford Road. New and quality second-hand items will be for sale including jewellery, wooden toys and bric-a-brac. There will also be a sausage sizzle, raffles and tarot card readings.

Melton South classes

Melton South Community Centre is offering classes in deluxe facials, acrylic nails, express eyelash extensions, cupcake bouquets, mini-Christmas cakes, floristry Christmas wreaths and more. Classes will run from Saturday.

Australia Day in Melton

Celebrate and commemorate the landing of the first fleet while recognising the outstanding contributions of Melton groups and individuals this Australia Day. Celebrations will be from 9.30am-noon on Monday, January 26,
