At the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month, Caroline Springs RSL held its first Remembrance Day service, commemorating those who fought in World War I.
Hundreds of veterans, school students and emergency service workers gathered last Tuesday at the Caroline Springs war memorial for a service that started with Ode to the Fallen and Last Post.

Please Wear a Poppy, while wreaths were laid at the memorial by fellow students, veterans, local MPs and residents. Scores of residents laid a poppy at the memorial.
Remembrance Day marks the WWI ceasefire on the Western Front. Caroline Springs RSL president Peter Burquest said it was important to remember and commemorate the legacy of those who served in World War I and subsequent wars.
