A woman who failed to respond to phone calls from family has been found with life-threatening injuries in an apartment in Melton.
Police conducted a welfare check at the woman’s Melton unit about 5pm on Monday.
They found the woman inside with severe injuries.
Victoria Police spokeswoman Belinda Batty said the woman, believed to be in her 30s, was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital, where she remained in a serious but stable condition with assault-related injuries.
Police executed a warrant at a nearby property on Coburns Road just before 2am on Tuesday.
A man from that property is assisting police with their inquiries.
