Thieves grab piggy bank

Two men stole a charity piggy bank from the Westwaters Hotel in Caroline Springs last week. The pair entered the hotel at 7.50am on Wednesday, October 29, and while one distracted staff the other cut the chain securing the piggy bank, which carried donations for Very Special Kids. One offender was Caucasian, 18-20 years, 175cm tall, of medium build and wearing dark clothing and bright blue runners. The second was darker skinned, had short dark hair and was wearing a dark T-shirt and jacket. They are believed to have left in a red Subaru WRX. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Two charged over burglaries

Two Melton youths have been charged over burglaries at Melton Waves, Melton Golf Club and Reynolds Place Recreation Reserve overnight on October 21 and 22. A 14-year-old was charged in relation to all three burglaries, while a 19-year-old was charged over the incidents at Melton Waves and Reynolds Place.

Police nick car-theft suspects

Two men from Melton South have been charged over the theft of motor vehicles. A 24-year-old allegedly stole one vehicle from Yarraville and another from Melton. He was intercepted on October 29 driving a vehicle displaying different number plates at the front and rear. Both plates were stolen. He was charged with theft and will appear in court at a later date.
