LATEST: Melton will have a new multimillion-dollar community health facility.
The town will be the site of Victoria’s first $14 million Community Ambulatory Care Centre, Health Minister David Davis announced on Thursday.
During his visit to the site, he said works were expected to begin next year and be completed by 2017.
The facility will bring together a wide range of services under one roof.
“Community ambulatory care centres are an innovative new concept in the delivery of high quality, integrated community health and welfare services in metropolitan Melbourne,” Mr Davis said.
“It’s adding additional capacity to services and the growing need in the western region of Melbourne,” he said.
Mr Davis said the new facility would support the booming Melton community by offering more services in a convenient location.
“These vital health infrastructure projects are building the better health system that people in Melbourne’s west deserve,” he said.
