Bacchus Marsh Horticulture Show: Enjoy spring splendour

Bacchus Marsh Horticulture Show will make its debut this weekend when organiser Joce Williams hopes to share her love of gardening and plants with the wider community.

“I love gardening and a horticulture show is a great community experience,” Ms Williams said.

She said everyone in the community was welcome to join the festivities, as an exhibitor or guest.

“The horticultural show is a great way for the community to join in at different levels,” she said.

“It’s a great thing for all age groups.”

Ms Williams, who was raised on a farm, said she loved working with the soil and being in her garden and she hoped other horticulture lovers would attend the show to share their passion.

“Just like the Melbourne Royal, Geelong and Ballarat shows, people can enter exhibits in roses, cut flowers, cacti, succulents, floral art, Australian natives and vegetables, and there’s a section for juniors, too,” Ms Williams said.

Proceeds from the show will be added to the community’s contribution to the Moorabool council budget for an indoor aquatic centre.

Ms Williams said the community would not only enjoy the experience of the show but reap the benefits of an aquatic centre.

The Bacchus Marsh Horticulture Show will be held in the Public Hall, Main Street, Bacchus Marsh, from noon to 4pm on Sunday, October 26.

Entries are now open for exhibitors, who can also enter from 6.30-9.30am on the day. To pick up a schedule, visit Devenny Payne, accountants, on Main Street.

For more information or to enter, call 0438 900 182 or email joce@scottiehouse.com.
