Works on Bridge Road Reserve in Atherstone are set to start soon, with the state government having awarded Melton council $650,000 in funding.
Last week, Sport and Recreation Minister Damian Drum announced the funding to go towards a new pavilion and synthetic hockey field at the reserve. Melton mayor Bob Turner said the reserve was an important piece of infrastructure that would help accommodate the area’s growth spurt.
The council and Lend Lease have committed
$3.355 million to the project in the 2014-15 financial year.
