Victorian Seniors Festival: Melton residents stepping out

Melton will blossom with activities to celebrate ageing well as part of next week’s Victorian Seniors Festival.

Melton council will host a variety of events from Sunday, October 5, to Sunday, October 12.

They will include the popular seniors’ dinner dance, and an open day and tours of the Morton Homestead.

The Friends of the Melton Botanic Garden will host a guided tour of the garden.

Friends president John Bentley says it’s a great time of year for walking tours.

“It’s a nice gentle walk for about one hour through the gardens.”

Mr Bentley says visitors to the garden can expect to see an array of colourful plants and enjoy the birdlife that makes its home in the gardens.

The guided tour and afternoon tea will be held on Wednesday, October 8, from 1.30pm, starting at the corner of Tullidge and Williams streets.
