Deer Park will take on Spotswood in the Western Region Football League senior grand final at Avalon Airport Oval from 2pm this Saturday.
It will be a replay of last year’s grand final, one of the most thrilling in the league’s history.
After trailing by more than 40 points midway through the second quarter last year, the Lions clawed their way back to hand Spotswood a one-point defeat.
Single-kick margins have been non-existent in the clubs’ more recent history.
The Lions and Woodsmen met twice in the regular season, with Deer Park coming out on top by 30 and 21 points in rounds five and 14 respectively.
But it was the Lions’ 77-point qualifying final belting of Spotswood that has the Lions red-hot flag favourites.
