Bacchus Marsh’s Natasha to go stomping for charity

A Bacchus Marsh resident is living by example, putting her best foot forward to walk in July’s Stadium Stomp at the MCG.

Natasha Staunton, 39, has been training hard for Victoria’s largest stair-climbing challenge, which raises money for the Leukaemia Foundation.

“I’m using that Irish honesty and aiming to encourage people to get off their backsides,” she said, laughing. “I suffer from kidney disease, but I’m aiming to keep fit and show it can be done.”

Ms Staunton trains for the 7000-step challenge at Maddingley Park three to four times a week and will be one of thousands taking part in the July 7 event.

“I’ve been in training since last year’s race finished,” she said.

“I’m aiming to beat last year’s time of 28 minutes … if I get between 25 and 27 minutes I’ll be really happy.”
