Tea-riffic times at St Bernards Parish Primary School

More than 50 members of the St Bernards Parish Primary School in Bacchus Marsh raised their cups and nibbled on homemade delectables as part of Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.

The school has hosted the cancer awareness fund-raiser for more than 13 years, and raised $561 at the May 30 event.

Bacchus Marsh’s Kelly Radisch has co-ordinated the day for the past three years, and said it’s always fun.

“There was such lovely food donated. We had homemade scones, mini-quiches, cupcakes, biscuits and slices,” Ms Radisch said. “It was great to relax and have a chat over a cuppa for a good cause.”

Last year, 98 Biggest Morning Tea fund-raisers were held in the north-west, raising $41,770 for the Cancer Council.

While the official date for the Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea was May 22, events can be held any time in May or June.
