Dance the night away

The Marsh Food Bus will hold a dinner dance to raise funds for the service, which helps Moorabool residents in need. A two-course meal will be served at St Bernards Hall in Lerderderg Street at 6pm on May 31. Shazam will play from 8pm.

Biggest Morning Tea

St Bernards Primary School’s parents and friends committee is seeking donations of cakes, slices, biscuits and raffle prizes as it prepares to raise money for the Cancer Council. The committee will hold a Biggest Morning Tea at the school hall from 10am on Friday, May 30.

Ballan market

Ballan Lions Club’s next market is on June 7. Held on the first Saturday of each month, the market features a wide range of local crafts and secondhand goods. It’s at the Guides Hall in Inglis Street from 8am.

Work experience contest

Students are being given the chance to win work placements with some of Australia’s top companies in a new Victoria University competition. Year 10 and 11 students can secure a placement and valuable mentoring opportunities with companies including the Mushroom Group, Nova FM, Honda, Just Group and Leo Burnett. Entries close June 6.

Bird walk

Learn more about our feathered friends during a bird walk along Toolern Creek on June 15. It will be an easy walk along a paved path, so the whole family is welcome. Meet at the corner of Tamar Drive and Raymond Street, Melton South at 9am.

Fun for funds

Join Gold 104.3 host Lehmo for an evening of entertainment at WestWaters Hotel in Caroline Springs on June 28. The night will includes a performance by The Chantoozies and will raise funds for The Orange Pigeon, a local charity that grants wishes and provides comfort to adults with terminal or life-threatening illnesses. Tickets cost $49, which includes a three-course meal. On sale until June 21.
