A Melton driver had cameras flashing after she drove her car through a photography shopfront window in High Street in Melton.

The 62-year-old woman told police she was parking her four-wheel-drive in front of the store at 4.15pm on Tuesday when she accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake.

Shop owner George Tsegos said a staff member and customer were inside at the time.

Melton Sergeant Chris Stuhldreier has confirmed no one was injured.

He said police were conducting further inquiries.

“She wasn’t believed to be speeding, at this stage we think it’s a genuine mistake.”
