Melton South artist Julie Zapasa hopes her latest trio of works will tap into viewers’ childish sense of awe and exploration.
The acrylic painting series, titled Girls and Horsies, was inspired by her own childhood reflections.
“Every now and again you get reminded you were once a child, and I often think that as children we were given our personalities, and growing up is exploring that,” she said.
“When we engage with children, it brings out the hope and beauty of the world.”
In her eight solo exhibitions, the 53-year-old former bank worker has dabbled in many themes, including the unconscious mind, Buddhism, Egyptology and Native Americans.
Girls and Horsies can be viewed at Satellite City Furniture & Bedding, at 358 High Street, Melton, between 9am and 5.15pm weekdays.
