Back-to-back premierships for the Elaine Cricket Club are a reminder that success knows no age barrier, with the winning team rounded out by two 11-year-olds.
Nicholas Pantzidis and Seamus Dunne were called up for last month’s division 5 grand final after having filled in when the senior side was short earlier in the season.
Committee member Shane Dunne said the boys were rapt.
“They played for about three-quarters of the season, so it was only fair they’d play in the grand final.”
Elaine defeated Mount Clear in the best-of-three series.
