An eight-member community consultative committee has been appointed to help the state government develop Sunbury as a new local government municipality.
The committee includes Sunbury Community Health Centre chief executive Phillip Ripper, Sunbury Residents’ Association vice-president Lawrence Seyers and Sunbury Football Netball Club president Phillip Lithgow.
Outgoing Local Government Minister Jeanette Powell said the Sunbury Community Consultative Committee would consult with residents on matters it believes need investigation and consideration. They would also work with the ‘‘Sunbury out of Hume’’ local government panel appointed earlier this year.
Northern Victoria upper house member Amanda Millar will chair the committee, which will have its first meeting this week and will plan a schedule of public forums expected to be held in April.
