An appeal launched in memory of murdered Bacchus Marsh woman Sarah Cafferkey has raised more than $10,000 for youth support services.
Ms Cafferkey’s cousin, Hollie Closter-Cutajar – with the support of Ms Cafferkey’s mother, Noelle Dickson – launched the Sarah Cafferkey Youth Services Appeal last October to help Djerriwarrh Health Services expand youth services in Bacchus Marsh.
“Sarah had accessed the current health services to get her on the right track,” Ms Closter-Cutajar said. “But her time was cut short. We don’t want to see it happen to anyone else.”
Djerriwarrh is investigating a number of potential sites in Bacchus Marsh, with a decision expected soon.
Djerriwarrh’s acting chief executive, David Grace, said the organisation planned to build on counselling services through its adolescent and young adult program.
