A hard-fought 93 from Darley skipper Matthew Cape wasn’t enough to get his side over the line against North Ballarat, with the home side grabbing a 44-run victory on Saturday.
Chasing North Ballarat’s 224 from last week, Darley struggled in the early overs, slipping to 3-24 in the 40-degree afternoon heat.
Cape led the fightback, but Jake Wilkie (26) and Brian Wheelahan (34) were the only other batsmen to reach double figures as Darley was dismissed for 180.
