The hard work of Melton Hockey Club’s Kellie McLaren has again been recognised, with the chief executive a finalist in this month’s Community Sport and Recreation Awards.
McLaren (pictured with Sports Minister Hugh Delahunty) was one of four finalists in the category for community coach, administrator, referee or official of the year.
The awards recognise contributions made on or off the field, with a particular focus on encouraging participation.
Mr Delahunty said a strong field of 200 nominees made selecting finalists a challenge.
“It was inspiring to read so many extraordinary contributions to the sport and recreation sector across Victoria,” he said.
The honor tops off a big year for McLaren, who was recently recognised as Hockey Victoria’s female administrator of the year.
