Melton has posted its third win of the premier seconds season after a five-wicket triumph against Ringwood on Sunday.
Melton made 5-150 by the 45th over to overhaul Ringwood’s 9-148. The win lifts Melton to eighth in the 11-team league, its 13 points still nine off the finals pace of Box Hill (fourth, 22).
Bindi Hughes (3-25) and Helen Taylor (2-32) were Melton’s better bowlers as Ringwood recovered from 5-67 to post a competitive score.
Opener Olivia Aing (46) led the Melton chase before Nicole Martin (26no) and a generous Ringwood donation of 37 sundries took the Lions to victory with 31 balls to spare.
Melton heads to Central Reserve in Waverley this Sunday for back-to-back Twenty20 matches against Brunswick Park at 11am and Melbourne at 2.30pm.
