Melton returns to defend its status as the association’s top team with a clash against Yarraville on Saturday.
The season starts with two-day games, with Melton’s match against Yarraville starting at 1pm at Yarraville Oval. Melton’s women start the VWCA premier seconds season with a trip to Napoleons on Sunday to play Napoleons-Sebastopol in a one-day game.
Former Melton player Patrick McKenna hit a century for Vic Country under-19s last week.
McKenna made 135 off 138 balls in the Country v Metro match in Barooga, NSW. McKenna has switched from Melton to Premier Cricket club Carlton.
