Storytellers, magicians and jugglers will present short stories
and tall tales when Moorabool’s annual literacy trail hits the streets
of Ballan today
Inglis Street will be lit up with a colourful array of children’s
performers bringing to life stories from China, Germany and local
dreamtime.
The event is designed to foster a love of reading, writing and counting in children.
Moorabool mayor Pat Toohey, dressed as King Arthur, will open the event with Western Bulldogs ruckman Will Minson.
“This is a fantastic annual event … and is a perfect opportunity to get kids of all ages excited about reading,” Cr Toohey said.
“We have had many local business owners offer their support by
agreeing to read stories to the kids, putting up window displays or
simply lending their strip of footpath to the passing brigade.’’
