Bacchus Marsh Primary School pupils grow a sweet future

Spring is the time for new growth, and Bacchus Marsh Primary
School grade 3 pupils including Deegan and Billy got right
into the spirit last Thursday.

Children planted their own pots in a
vertical garden known as a “green wall”. The new program is designed to
encourage children to enjoy the outdoors and learn about their natural
environment.

Their first lesson covered basics such as watering and
fertilising, plant growth, harvesting and seed germination.

Student Ruby
said she couldn’t wait to enjoy the fruits of their hard work.

“I liked
planting in our new garden. Now we’re going to make sure we water them so we can watch the strawberries grow and eat them.”
