FATHER Michael Moody will welcome residents through the doors of Melton’s newest church next month.
Work on St Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, on Bulmans Road, started in 2008.
Father Moody, who is also the parish priest at St Dominics in Melton, said the new church would help meet the demand of Melton’s growing population.
About 1000 people attend St Dominics each weekend. “We’ve got a little church that was built in 1875 and holds about 90 adults.
“Then we moved into a multi-purpose hall, which we currently use, and now we’re moving to a dedicated worship building.”
St Catherine of Siena church will open at 6pm on August 3.
