DJERRIWARRH Health Services is trialling the use of Telehealth home monitoring equipment for Bacchus Marsh and Melton patients who have a chronic illness.
The trial is part of a nationwide CSIRO research project. It uses the National Broadband Network, being rolled out in Bacchus Marsh and coming soon to Melton, to check health information such as blood pressure, pulse and weight on a daily basis.
“Telehealth home monitor provides an opportunity to respond to more subtle deteriorations in people’s health before they need to visit an emergency service or be admitted to hospital,” Djerriwarrh chief executive Bruce Marshall said.
Each patient in the trial will be provided with free home monitoring equipment and an NBN connection. Details: 9747 7602.
