Coburn Primary School closes after water pipe theft

THIEVES have forced Coburn Primary School to close after stealing the water meters and pipes.

Students and teachers arrived at the school today (Tuesday) to find no taps were working. The school had to call parents asking them to pick up their children.

“It is absolutely disgusting that thieves would target a children’s primary school and leave the school without water,” said the president of the Cambridge, Coburn and Watts Residents Association, Nathan Miles.

“It is such a stupid and selfish act and as a result hundreds of kids have been affected as well as the dedicated staff at the school…the police need to fully investigate and prosecute the person or persons who have committed this crime.”
